One day, after doing a ton of research, I printed out a list of 20 words that followed the following characteristics that addressed both problems:
After a little hesitation, to my surprise, my friend's daughter started accurately reading all the words. As a matter of fact, the next day, she was bragging that she could read all 20 words and wanted to read the next set that I developed!
